How I Became a Wedding Celebrant
I began my journey as a wedding celebrant in 2016, and I quickly discovered just how much I loved being part of such an important time in a couple’s life.
I feel privileged to stand alongside couples as they make their promises to one another and I particularly enjoy giving them the freedom to create a ceremony that feels completely right for them; personal, meaningful and full of the things that make their love story unique.
Away from weddings, I’m married myself and enjoy spending time with family, walking in the countryside and being by the shore. I think those simple things; love, family, nature and shared moments are at the heart of what makes a wedding ceremony so special.
For me, being a celebrant isn't just about conducting a ceremony. It's about getting to know the couple and helping them create a moment they will remember for the rest of their lives.
YOUR JOURNEY TO "I DO"- in THREE SIMPLE STEPS
1. Legal Preparation - Your Notice of Marriage
Your journey begins with the legal formalities. In Northern Ireland, you’ll each complete your Notice of Marriage form, confirming your intent to marry, and submit them to the Registrar. Once that’s taken care of, you’re free to focus on what truly matters, creating a ceremony filled with love, meaning, and personal touches.
2. Designing your ceremony
This is where the magic begins. Next, we will work closely to design a ceremony that truly reflects your story and values. This includes choosing readings, music, vows, and any symbolic elements you’d like to include. Every element is chosen with care, ensuring your ceremony feels authentic, heartfelt, and deeply personal.
3. Your Wedding Day
On the big day, I will bring everything to life leading your ceremony with warmth, confidence, and care. I will ensure every detail runs smoothly, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere so you can be fully present in the moment and celebrate your love surrounded by family and friends.
